The Senior All-Night Graduation Party on June 19 is an Eastlake tradition that will keep our kids safe and give
them a wonderful night full of memories.
There will be one last opportunity on Tuesday, May 8 during both lunches to choose a bus
with friends. Students must be registered for the event to choose a bus.

the event will be placed onto buses where space is available. Tickets are $145 made payable to EHS PTSA.

Baccalaureate planning is well under way and we need your donations to help defray costs we have already
incurred for invitations, programs, speakers and the reception. This is a non-school-sponsored event and
is funded solely through parent contributions. Your donation of $15-20 will help make this inspirational
event possible. Make checks
payable to EHS PTSA Baccalaureate Fund and drop off at Eastlake's main office.
Please join us at the EHS PTSA General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m. in the EHS

PTSA box in the Eastlake office March 23rd. In addition, the LWSD PTSA

Seniors Baccalaureate Theme: 'Go Light the World'
Baccalaureate is an inspirational celebration traditionally held the week prior to graduation. The event includes music, dance, poetry and inspiration readings performed by graduating seniors as well as guest speakers from the high school and the community. This year we will also be featuring visual arts projects created by graduating seniors. If you have a talent or know a talented senior, please encourage them to participate. This year's event is scheduled for Sunday, June 17 and the theme is "Go Light The World." Auditions will be held April 18.
This year's committee is already at work but we are still in need of volunteers to help with the
slide show. If this is something you would like to do or know someone else who might, contact Patti
Benjamin (patti.benjamin@me.com) or Amy McOmber (seven.hearts@juno.com).
The EHS PTSA is looking for volunteers to serve as VP of Community Service,
Student Directory Chair, Webmaster, and Holiday Bazaar Chair. If you are interested in any of the above volunteer
opportunities, please email the EHS PTSA Vice President of Volunteers, Monica DeRaspe-Bolles, at
volunteer@ehsptsa.org.
Senior Send Off is fast approaching! For those of you who are not familiar with this event, it is designed to give our "2012 seniors" a safe, chaperoned, and drug- and alcohol-free celebration following their graduation ceremony. A tradition and one of the many highlights of the evening are the senior gift drawings. The chaperones do this during the bus ride to the various venues. In addition to the drawings on the bus, we will also raffle a few other items at the event. In order to continue this tradition, we need the support of our Eastlake community.
Here is how you can help! We are looking for gift cards in $15-$50 denominations. They can be from local merchants, e.g., Starbucks, Subway, KFC/Taco Bell, McDonald's, Jamba Juice, Yo- Plateau, Taco Time, other restaurants, clothing stores, ITunes, sports stores, beauty stores and Visa cash cards. Basically anywhere a high school senior might go and use it. You may also make a straight cash donation and we will purchase the gift cards for you. The gift giver's name will be noted at the time of the drawing and advertised on our donor board at the event. Other donation opportunities would be larger prize donations, e.g., event tickets, boating trips, golf rounds, dorm items (bedding certificates, refrigerators, storage, microwaves), electronics, etc. These larger items will be raffled off at the main event. The more donations we get equals more fun for the kids!
All donations are greatly appreciated. Please bring gift cards or checks made out to EHS PTSA to
the school office, ATTN: SENIOR SEND-OFF COMMITTEE. For large prize donation items, please notify
Carolyn Boe at (425) 591-5254 and arrangements will be made for the items to be picked up and stored
until graduation. If you could make your donation by April 30 that would really help. Let's make this
a successful graduation night for the "Class of 2012!" Thank you in advance for your cooperation and generosity.
Seniors, get your Senior Send-Off tickets! Senior Grad Night is a tradition and you don't want to miss out! On June 19, the buses will be leaving right after graduation and returning to EHS at 6 a.m. the next morning. This will be a great ALL NIGHT ADVENTURE! The price is now $145 (payable to EHS PTSA).
By signing up now, you will be able to reserve space on the bus
of your choice with your friends. Late sign ups will be randomly
placed on available buses. The forms are
available on the PTSA website. If you have already signed up, there
are two additional
food allergy forms that need to be filled out and returned. Orders can be turned into your
homeroom teacher or in the office.

Do you want to help the Eastlake PTSA take a real step toward
"going green" by having the ability to input forms and payments
online? Our current Webmaster has a graduating senior and so
we need to start planning now for a conversion to a new web
system for the 2012-13 school year. We are considering using a
secure server package by ourschoolpages.com. If you have the
technical ability, time to dedicate to our students and interest in
moving our PTSA into the future, please contact Betty at

The EHS Library has a wish list on Amazon of books that they would love to have in the library.
Each book purchased will have a book plate affixed inside the front cover indicating the donor or
someone the donor wishes to honor. This is a great way to honor your student or someone else who is
special in your life. Simply make an indication via the Amazon note card or email Nancy Sherertz
(nsherertz@lwsd.org) with the information you would like included on the book plate. Your donation
is tax-deductible.
The February 2011 capital projects levy funded an addition to Eastlake High School to house additional students when the district changes to four-year high schools in the fall of 2012. This project will add a classroom wing behind the existing library, additional gym space and several portable classrooms. The cafeteria/commons area will also be remodeled to add a mezzanine level with additional food service and seating capacity. For more information, take a look at the district construction web page.
An update on the construction progress is on the agenda at the Sept 28th PTSA General Membership Meeting; at 6:30pm in the Eastlake HS library.
LWSD is planning a new secondary school, open to all LWSD students, that will focus on

Many parents think that since their child is driving to school or 18 years
old that they will be allowed to leave in an emergency situation without a
parent or authorized person coming to the school. This is not the case and
the attached document
explains why and the procedure that will be followed
in an emergency situation.
For the 2011-2012 school year, PTSA will send weekly or as-needed e-mail news to subscribers using Constant Contact. All news and information will be available on school and/or PTSA websites.
